Why sit with us

The job, minus the awkward bits.

Set your own rate

Pick anywhere from $26 to $40 an hour based on your experience and qualifications. Raise it any time. No bidding, ever.

You're in control of the calendar

Set availability windows in the app. Decline any booking with no penalty. Take a week off — just toggle off.

Paid weekly, automatically

Every Wednesday, last week's bookings hit your bank. No invoicing, no waiting on family payments — we handle that.

$20M liability cover

Every booking is covered, on us. Underwritten by Allianz Australia, no excess for you.

Pre-vetted families

Every parent is verified, address-confirmed, and has a card on file. No cash, no door-step pricing chats.

24/7 support, real humans

Late-night booking turns awkward? Tap the SOS button and you're talking to our duty manager in under a minute.

How pay works

Straightforward, no surprises.

Per-booking earnings

You set an hourly rate when you join. Families see it before they book. When a booking ends, we charge them and pay you — minus a flat 12% platform fee that covers insurance, vetting, and the app.

Example. Set your rate at $32/hr, work a 4-hour Saturday night booking. Family pays $128 + booking fee. You take home $112.64.

Payouts & tax

Earnings clear in your Mini Connections wallet the day after each booking. Every Wednesday at 10am, last week's wallet is auto-deposited to your nominated bank account.

At end of financial year, you'll get a single PDF income summary for your tax return. Most of our sitters operate as sole traders — we have a free guide to help.

What we look for

Requirements to join.

We say no to about 7 out of 10 applicants. The bar is high because parents trust us to set it that way.

Working with Children Check

A current, valid WWCC for the state(s) you'll sit in. We verify directly with the issuing body.

  • NSW, VIC, QLD checks all accepted
  • Cost is reimbursed after your first 10 bookings

Experience with kids

At least 12 months of meaningful experience — nanny, ECE student, teacher, family helper, swim coach, sports coach, the works.

  • Two reference contacts we can call
  • References must be non-family

First Aid (or willing to certify)

Current HLTAID012 (Provide first aid in education and care). If you don't have it yet, we'll reimburse the course after you complete it.

  • Re-certification reminders in-app
  • CPR refresher every 12 months

Vibe check

A 30-minute video interview with our care team. We're looking for warmth, judgement, and the kind of person we'd hire for our own kids.

  • Friendly, conversational — not an exam
  • Scheduled in-app, evenings welcome
