What does the vetting process actually involve?
Every sitter on Mini Connections completes: a Working with Children Check (WWCC), a 100-point ID verification, two reference calls with people we contact directly, and a 30-minute video interview with our care team. We reject roughly 7 in 10 applicants.
What does it cost?
Sitters set their own hourly rate, typically $26-$40/hr depending on experience. Mini Connections adds a flat $4 booking fee on weeknights and $6 on Fri/Sat evenings. No surge pricing, no minimums, no membership.
Are sitters insured?
Yes: every booking made through Mini Connections is covered by $20M of public liability insurance for the sitter on duty. We're underwritten by Allianz Australia.
What's the cancellation policy?
Cancel free up to 24 hours before the booking. Inside 24 hours, a 50% cancellation fee goes to the sitter. Inside 2 hours, full rate. Sick kid? Message us and we waive fees for genuine illness.
